Lesson Plans

The most challenging was thinking about the low income students I have that might not have a digital camera or a computer to use. I think having students as the photographer will make them have a practical application to my teaching. I hope to use all of these lessons in my teaching.

Project 3: Podcast

My only expectations when I thought about this podcast is that it would be so much better if I was teaching it live. I get really nervous speaking into a mic. for some reason. I thought the end product wasn't too bad. I would have liked to do it over and over again, but after the 20th take I had to just do it. The only part I am not happy with is the G commercial's sound, but I think the students will get my point for including it. I would love to record some of my lessons and have them available for absent students.

Podcast Project 3

Today I put together my power point for my podcast. My subject is generic versus name-brand . I had fun taking the pictures for my project at Meijer. I am a little nervous about adding my voice to the power point, but I am sure I will be able to not make too many mistakes.

Project 4

I just finished making my photograph showcase on imovie. I set it up using the categories altered images, people, framing, architecture, and two-thirds. I used Ken Burns on some of my images, but not all. I also chose a variety of transitions. I also put tiles of the categories on first image of each group. I had a little hard time trying to figure out how to fade the music, but after some searching I figured it out. To pick my categories I looked at all my images and grouped them into groups that I thought went well together. I tried to pick the best of the best pictures. These images tell you that I am a mom, I went to Mackinaw this past weekend, and I like being outdoors. I had a hard time trying to fade my music, but I did figure out how to do it. I would like to create some imovie projects that my students can view instead of listening to me all the time. Today I didn't work as fast as I thought I would. I am very happy with my finished product. I really like the imovie program and think that it's product is a well done product.

Lesson Plans

I just posted my lesson plans. I had a fun time writing them out this weekend. I think the students will find the activities fun yet educational. I also liked including higher level thinking skills in the lesson plans.

Podcast

Today I went to Meijer and took pictures for my podcast assignment. I had a lot of fun, but I was worried the entire time that I would get in trouble for taking pictures.

Finishing Project #2

Today I finished making the visual tour. I made my tour on environmental concerns in South Bend, Indiana. I enjoyed taking the pictures. I kind of felt like I was collecting incriminating data like on Erin Brockovich. I am very happy with what I've created to use in my classroom.

Virtual Tour

I had so much fun making a virtual tour on Google Sites. I already knew how to make a power point so I thought I would stretch myself to try something new. I found Google Sites very easy to use. I did used the tutorial that was posted to help me get started. I even shared what I had made with my family when I got home. Tomorrow I am going to work on getting all the pictures I need to use in the tour. Now off to bed:)

Project #1

So I am now traveling everywhere with my camera. I even left my camera in my Mom's van and then had to figure out how to get it back from Michigan. Most of my pictures for this project came from a run I took with my kids. We ended up at the park, where I let my daughter play and I clicked my camera.
The photo-bet assignment probably took me twice as long as it should have. Also, I probably took way too many pictures. I did have fun making my way around South Bend to capture the image I wanted to use. I found using my tripod helped me zoom in very close to the letters.

Today I went to the park with my daughter and son. I had fun taking pictures of both of them. Kids can be way to fast for me to take good pictures.

Right now I am feeling very comfortable in this class. I am excited to get started with my digital camera. I am sure I will have many questions, but you have done a great job explaining stuff so far.
